A ”dangerous” transient thief has been breaking into the homes of the women he was stalking — and even took the time to rearrange one of his victim’s furniture, according to local law enforcement. Jacob Smart, 38, was named Thursday as the man they had been hunting over the last several months for carrying out a string of burglaries in Boise. The looter was caught on multiple surveillance videos nonchalantly walking onto his victims’ properties, one time feeling comfortable enough to pet the homeowner’s dog as it followed him around the yard. He also forced his way inside on several occasions by kicking down the doors, the video shows.
