& the internet loses it mind
Is this really the worst violation of this year’s US Open?
The internet lost its mind Monday after ESPN cameras caught a woman eating chicken fingers on the sidelines with two young boys presumed to be her sons. Her error? Casually dipping a crispy, golden-fried tender into a cup of soda.
When it comes to crimes of the palate, this — according to many observers — is as gross as it gets.
“Dipping chicken fingers in soda? These kids aren’t even phased [sic] that their mother is a psychopath,” one Twitter user wrote.
“This is so #Merica, but I’m sorry, you don’t dip chicken in soda,” another scolded.
OK, sure — dunking salty fried chicken in an icy Coke is a tad . . . unconventional. But is it truly disgusting? A sign of mental illness?I think not.
Somewhere at this very moment, an excited fast-food customer is choosing from an array of sugary condiments to pair with their chicken nuggets. Think BBQ sauce, ketchup and straight-up honey.
Are these really so different from a thin coating of Coke?
And consider chicken and waffles: a junk-food delicacy that entails scarfing down mouthfuls of crunchy fried meat, piping-hot dough and maple syrup.Excuse me while I salivate.
