Finley Horken-Sacred Heart School East Grand Forks

Finley has been the starting setter for the Sacred Heart Eagles since last year as an 8th grader. She has been the spark of the team, who can be found running across the court for the 2nd hit which she gets to every time. Regardless if the pass is right to her or across the court she’s able to make it into a great set or pass for a kill. Her hard work, hustle, and positive attitude are contagious to her teammates. She reached her 1000th assist on Saturday in the Championship game at the Fertile-Beltrami Invitational against BGMR.

Mya

Mya is a great team leader for Berthold’s volleyball team. She is currently a senior and has been a key player owning a leadership role for the Bombers since she was a sophomore. Her determination and passion show in each game she plays. Mya is very level headed and has a great attitude. She is more than deserving for recognition as one of ND’s great high school athletes! Enjoy the rest of your season; your community is proud of you, Mya!

High School Athlete of the Week, November 22nd is Central's Hockey Team

I am nominating the GFC Hockey Team for athelete of the week. This is kind of an unusual request, but these kids deserve it. This year before tryouts start these boys have been out in the community doing a service project. Members of the community call and schedule a time for the boys to go to their home to do projects, such as moving furniture, raking leaves, moving boxes, washing windows. These boys have taken this project head on and it helps focus on team work.  These boys deserve this recognition.
